Pal Singh Arif — پال سنگھ عارف

Pal Singh Arif (1873–1958) was born in the village of Paddhari, now in the Amritsar district of the Punjab. He was a mystic and poet. He learnt to read and write Punjabi from the village granthi and Urdu from a Muslim scholar. He started writing poetry quite early in his youth. He was fond of the company of holy men—Hindu, Sikh, and Muslim. Pal Singh Arif was the author of over three dozen works. In 1949, he published a collection of all his poems in a 1,250-page volume entitled 'Arif Prakash'.

پال سنگھ عارف (1873-1958) دا جنم پنجاب دے امرتسر ضلعے دے پنڈ پڈھاری وچّ ہویا۔ اوہ رہسوادی کوی سن۔ اوہناں نے پنجابی پڑھنا اتے لکھنا پنڈ دے گرنتھی کولوں اتے اردو اک مسلمان سجن کولوں سکھیا۔ جوانی 'چ پیر پاؤندیاں ہی اوہ پنجابی وچّ کویتا رچن لگّ پئے سن۔ اوہناں نوں نیک اتے دھارمک بندیاں دی سنگت بہت پسند سی۔ اوہناں نے کوئی تنّ درزن کتاباں لکھیاں۔ 1949 وچّ اوہناں نے 1250 صفیاں دا اپنا کاوَ سنگریہہ 'عارف پرکاش' پرکاشت کیتا۔
