Ustad Daman (September 1911-December 3, 1984) was a Punjabi poet and mystic. His real name was Chiragh Deen. He was a staunch supporter of Hindu-Muslim-Sikh unity. Pandit Nehru called him the ‘Poet of Freedom’. He was the most celebrated Punjabi poet at the time of the Partition of India in 1947. He was a severe critic of military dictators who ruled over Pak. He didn't publish his poetry in his life time.

استاد دامن (4 ستمبر 1911 - 3 دسمبر 1984) دا اصل ناں چراغ دین سی ۔ اوہ پنجابی بولی دے مشہور شاعر اتے اتے رہسوادی سن۔ دامن اوہناں دا تخلص سی ۔ استاد دا خطاب اوہناں نوں لوکاں نے دتا سی۔ آزادی سنگرام دی راجنیتی دی جاگ اوہناں نوں میاں اپھتکھارؤدین نے لائی سی۔ اوہ ہندو-مسلم-سکھم ایکتا نوں آزادی دی لازمی شرط مندے سن۔ استاد دامن فقر قسم دے لوک کوی سن، اوہناں اپنیاں کویتاواں دی آپ کوئی کتاب پرکاشت نہیں کروائی سی۔ ساریاں کویتاواں اوہناں نوں منہ زبانی یاد سن۔
