Guru Amar Das Ji (5 May1479-1September1574 ) was born at Basarke village in Amritsar district. He was the eldest son of his parents, Bhai Tej Bhan and Mata Sulakhni. He was married to Mansa Devi and had two sons, Mohan and Mohri, and two daughters, Bibi Dani and Bibi Bhani. Guru Angad Dev Ji appointed him as third Guru of the Sikhs in March 1552 at the age of 73. He composed 907 verses including Anand Sahib.
گورو امر داس جی (5 مئی 1479-1 ستمبر 1574) سکھاں دے تیجے گورو سن۔ اوہناں دا جنم باسرکے، ضلع امرتسر وکھے ہویا۔ اوہناں دے پتا تیجبھان جی اتے ماتا سلکھنی جی سن۔ اوہناں دا ویاہ منسا دیوی جی نال ہویا ۔ اوہناں دے دو پتر موہن جی اتے موہری جی اتے دو دھیاں بیبی دانی اتے بیبی بھانی جی سن۔ اوہناں دیاں 907 رچناواں ہن، جنہاں وچّ 'انند صاحب' وی شامل ہے ۔ گورو امر داس جی نے 1 ستمبر 1574 نوں گورو رام داس جی نوں گورو گدی سونپی ۔
